Graphics Add LIFE to Your Web Site

As you saw on the previous page, graphics can go on either side of the text or on both sides as shown here.

They can be included in the text

as seen here, or stand alone. Some graphics are animated to help capture attention as seen here.

At the top of this page and just under our logo (also a graphic) you'll see a useful graphic - horizontal line. Granted this one is not exciting, but lines can define an area, focus attention or break an area to appear more attractive. Here are a few lines as examples.

Buttons are just another kind on graphic that are usually linked. That just means that they can take you to another place on your site or another site on the Internet. ANY graphic can be used as a linked button, but throughout this site we've used blue neon buttons on a white sidebar. We could have used cyan oval veined buttons acoss the page.

Another type of button is the order button which links an item directly to the order form. Most of them are similar to regular buttons, and you'll find more about them in the e-commerce section of this site.

Similar to but smaller than buttons are bullets. Bullets are mainly used organize text in a list form. They can be plain or fancy. You can see various examples of bullets throughout this Web site.

And one final type of graphic that is very effective for attracting attention (especially to special sales) is a banner. Of course, here are a couple of examples.
